Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail is a United States National Scenic Trail that runs over 2100 miles through 14 states in the eastern United States, following the Appalachian Mountain Range. The Appalachian Trail began as a vision of forester Benton MacKaye and was developed by volunteers and opened as a continuous trail in 1937.
