Arapahoe Basin

The Arapahoe Basin (known universally as A-Basin, even on signs) is a resort area in the state of Colorado. It is a great destination for those on a budget not looking for tourist traps, but for more of a local scene. While not as large as the nearby resorts Keystone and Breckenridge down the valley, A-Basin still has lots of diverse terrain and plenty of trails. A-basin is also situated very high on the crest of Loveland Pass making it very much appealing not only its spectacular scenery, but late and early season snow cover and extreme vertical including rock cliffs and bowls that can be hiked!

A-Basin expanded over 80% in the 2006-2007 season by finishing the back half of their mountain - now called the Montezuma bowl.

Cell-phone warning: Most cell phones have no service anywhere at the A-Basin. If you're planning to meet somebody, make sure to pick a meeting time and place beforehand.

Getting There
