Baku Travel Tips
Baku travel tips courtesy of GeckoGo
  • The food is great. Try lambchops! They breed sheep especially, and they have very tender meat with no "sheep odour".  Florin I.
  • Do not get too drunk when out at evening, and try not to take a cab alone. There have been many 'incidents' of western workers/tourists being mugged. Try to find a taxi driver which you can get along with then take their mobile number and try to only use them......even the locals do this.  Lee B.
  • Only buy fresh beluga caviar from the fishermen - the stuff in the hotels - much like the black market currency exchange there - is not to be trusted - too many scams (overpriced and low quality). And do not get in discussions about Nagorno-Karabakh :))  Joseph T.
