Big Sky
Big Sky is a mountain resort in Montana. Big Sky was a ranch up until the early 1970's when T.V. newscaster Chet Huntley decided to turn it into a ski hill and resort area. It has grown considerably in the last 10 years but still is relatively uncrowded as most of the lodging in the area is houses and condos that are used infrequently.

Big Sky Travel Tips

- If all you want to do is ski all day and then eat great food, Big Sky is the place to go. There isn't much to do except ski and eat. Big Sky is also a short distance away from Yellowstone National Park. I would recommend taking a snowmobile tour through the park--it is absolutely gorgeous. • Emily S.
- Big Sky has EXCEPTIONAL skiing and snowboarding! The terrain park is decent, and the fresh pow is amazing! There are several awesome tree runs, and the trails themselves are pretty fun. There is little to no line at the lifts. The food in the area is pretty good, and you can get decent lodging … • Jonathan H.
- Great dude ranch - Lone Mountain Ranch - great for families. • Jennifer
