Des Moines capital of Iowa, is in the western region of the American Midwest. It is known as the insurance capital of the United States and somewhat comically for its mispronunciation by some, as New Orleans locals might also attest to those mistaking the pronunciation of their home.

  • Save yourself some time and just fly over Iowa, unless you're utterly fond of corn and pigs, Des Moines is just the capital of a cornfield.  Michael L.
