Desaru

Desaru is a coastal resort area in Southeastern Johor, Peninsular Malaysia. The small town of Bandar Penawar, about 2 km inland, serves as the area's transport hub. Desaru was much hyped in the 80s with quite a few mega projects aimed at attracting foreign investment and visitors, which have since been abandoned.
