Eastern Oregon
Eastern Oregon is the eastern portion of Oregon which is arid and sparsely inhabited. Much of it is desert and semi-desert. It covers between a third and a half of the state's land area. There are several mountain ranges running through this area which rise up substantially from the surrounding plain and which are forested with stands of Ponderosa Pines and Larch.
