Fiesole

Fiesole is a city in Tuscany close to Florence.

Get the number 7 bus from San Marco piazza in Florence - Fiesole is the last stop. Tickets can be purchased from any tabacchi and cost between 1.20 and €2.

Fiesole is small, so best way to get around is on foot.

Vinandro on the main square serves delicious typical Tuscan food and wine in a rustic ambience, desserts a particular speciality. Part of the Slow Food movement. Book ahead at the weekend.

• Fiesole has some nice Roman sites that you can walk around and visit. There is a Roman amphitheater, Roman bathhouses, Roman toilets, Roman pools, remnants of the Etruscan walls, and a Museum with other Roman and Etruscan artifacts. Also, an amazing view overlooking Florence. • D
