Galveston
Galveston is a city on Galveston Island, off the Texas Gulf Coast. It has largely been overshadowed by the nearby megacity of Houston, but remains a port of entry and a destination for almost all the cruise ships with ports of call in Texas.

Galveston Travel Tips

- I was very disappointed with Galveston, in general; however, take a look at the older parts of the city not destroyed by the hurricane you can find some really nice architecture. • Marcus B.
- As far as a travel destination, Galveston makes a nice stop for locals, but less so for long-distance travellers. It has become very crowded as of late for a city of its kind. I enjoy visiting there, but it's not what I'd call a top-rated destination. It's about average. Not my favorite beach-front … • David L.
- Take a carriage ride around the old town to see the best of the historic streets and houses. There are some unique shops in the downtown area. Take a stroll around the old harbour, it's usually full of pelicans taking in the sun on the boat decks - a great photo opportunity. • Andy G.
