Ghanaian Coastal Plain
Ghanaian Costal Plain is a region of Ghana.
Overview
This is a great region for tourists with a sense of history.
The coastline is famous for ancient forts, castles and slave dungeons, which were constructed by the European merchants. The World Heritage Foundation under UNESCO has declared most of them at Cape Coast and Elmina as World Heritage Monuments. It also boasts of the famous Kakum National Park, Ghana’s most popular canopy walkway, historic places of interest, craft villages and several beach hotels and resorts. Beach lovers really enjoy the region’s many palm fringed beaches, where warm African sunshine collides with the cool Atlantic Ocean breeze. The region enables visitors to establish a link between Africa and Europe, an era long gone.
