Hangu is a town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Hangu district is new district of N W F P province of Pakistan about 30 kilometers from Kohat and 60 kilometers from Peshawar. It is mainly inhabited by Bangash and Orakzai tribes. It is a very beautiful place with lash green valleys surrounded by beautiful mountains. Unfortunately, there have been riots between the Sunni and Shia Muslims recently, and at night, you fall asleep not to the sounds of crickets, but sometimes, to the sounds of gunfire and explosions.
buses leave the main street in hangu for Peshawar, islamabad, Karachi, Rawa Pinti, Korhat?. Do be warned, like much of pakistan, do not rely on broken english to communicate.
Taxis are available in town if you find yourself on foot, and are *generally* reliable.
The 'sun gate' mall in town is one place to source jewelry and perhaps some other supplies. Includes a beauty parlour.
