Lantau is the largest island in Hong Kong. With the opening of the Lantau Link, a road and rail connection between the airport and central Hong Kong in 1997, Lantau Island is now firmly connected to the mainland of the Kowloon peninsula.

  • The largest island in the territory. Home of the Po Lin Monastery. Numerous Budda are there and there is plenty of worshiping there. It is home of the worlds largest outdoor Budda. Do not go just to see the large Budda as fog ruined our trip. You could not see the Budda at all. The trip was wasted …  Keith
