Hsinchu County www1.hchg.gov.tw (新竹縣) is in in the north of Taiwan. Although the county has many beautiful mountain areas, the area of Hsinchu is best known for the IT and semiconductor industry in neighbouring Hsinchu City.

Getting Around
Hsinchu has a reasonable busing service. Price is 15nt (or 50cents US) to go around the city. During peak hours busses are every 10~15 minutes, though they aren't always on time. Easiest way is to get around by scooter or Taxi. Taxi prices are cheap here, though drivers drive rather fast and your first taxi drive will be an adventure!
