Kanchanaburi is a city located at the confluence of the rivers Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai. For most visitors the main sight of interest is the Bridge over the River Kwai, as the start of the infamous World War II Death Railway to Burma, as well as the many associated museums.

- Wear bug repelent!!! (Normally they don't bug* me but here they were EVERYWHERE!) Also, the famous Bridge over the river Kwai is walking distance from most accomodations along the river, so don't get scammed into paying $20 for a boat to it unless you want to see all the extras the boat trip … • Emma D.
- For anyone looking at going to Hellfire Pass or the Tiger temple from Kanchanaburi, trust me, car is the way to go. It's 160 km round trip and on a motorbike....oh my gosh your backside gets sore. • Kelly B.
