Kurashiki

Kurashiki is one of Japan's great old merchant towns. Situated along a scenic canal at the foot of Mt. Tsurugata, Kurashiki's white-walled storehouses are beautifully preserved and open for exploration.

Kurashiki Travel Tips
Kurashiki travel tips courtesy of GeckoGo
  • Maybe an hour's train ride from Okayama or Hiroshima. Called the Venice of Japan with its canals. Nice daytrip. Full of Japanese tourists and a few "long noses" from Europe or the States. Also famous for its handiworks: clay pots, cups, plates, etc...  Christian T.
  • Il faut juste faire le petit quartier "ancien". Le long d'un quai ils ont rénové/conservé des petites maisons traditionnelles et des temples. Très mignon!  Julie L.
