Lanai

Lanai is a island in Hawaii.

The only city on Lanai is Lanai city. For the most part, if one needs something, Lanai City is the only place they will find it.

Getting There

Lanai is accessible via Lanai Airport which has scheduled service to Honolulu and Kahului, Maui on Island Air and Pacific Wings. One can also reach Lanai from Lahaina, Maui on the Maui-Lanai Ferry with three roundtrips daily.

Getting Around

The only rental vehicles on the island are Jeeps.

Accommodations are limited on the island, so make sure you've booked ahead. Rooms for April and December high seasons book up months in advance.

Safety

Crime is usually not an issue on Lanai due to the small population, but that still doesn't mean that it is not a good idea to be watchful. There is only one gas station on the island and it is located in Lanai City, so make sure that enough gas is available. Lanai may be a small island, but places routes such as the Munro trail have limited access and take a long time to traverse.
