The main islands are divided into three sub-groups:
- Northern Lau Islands
- Southern Lau Islands
- Moala Islands

- Tubou - the capital, the most important of eight villages on the island of Lakeba, one of the Southern Lau Islands
Eating
Moanas Guest House on Vanua Balavu Island is one of the few regular places to stay in the Lau Group which caters to independent budget travelers. All meals are included in the rates.
