- An often overlooked city, Lincoln has a great cathedral and many fine medieval buildings. It's quite literally a city on a hill, so be prepared to walk up and down. The remains of the Bishop's Palace are well worth exploring, and there is a rather nice Roman arch in town as well. • Lisa G.
