Manaus

Manaus is a Brazilian city of about 2.5 million, located on the Rio Negro a few miles before it meets the Rio Solimões to form the Amazon River proper. The two rivers flow side by side for many miles, different in color, mixing in eddies: the "Meeting of the Waters." Legend has it that they never mix.

  • There isn't any better gateway to discover the Amazonas in Brazil!  Gabriel M.
  • Really place worth to visit. I advice going on a ship/cruise trip for 1/2 weeks..or some surrvival camp with accomodation in hoomoks in the jungle..worth every money;) I have done it , one of better things that I have ever done  Marcin N.
  • I would recommend Gerro tours..they have theirs office close to the main square in Manaus. Talk to David ;)  Marcin N.
