Manchester: North
North Manchester is the area of Manchester north of the centre bounded by the M60, the A6, and A57. It includes Sportcity, the development for the 2002 Commonwealth games, held in Manchester and Manchester City FC.It lies within The Historic County Boundaries of Lancashire.

In Sportcity, about 45 minutes' walk from Piccadilly Station train station:
- City of Manchester Stadium, Ashton New Road, Sportcity, 0870 062 1894, www.mcfc.co.uk. Mon 11:30AM-4:30PM, Tue-Sat 9:30AM-4:30PM, Sun 11AM-3PM. Originally built as the centrepiece of the Commonwealth Games, the stadium is now the home of Manchester City FC. It has a museum and a stadium tour as well as being host to City home games. Museum and tour £7 adults, £4.50 children & over-65s.
Eating
- There is a Croma,a TGI Friday's and a Pizza Express ,in Prestwich ,near junction 17 of the M60.Prestwich is also a stop on the Bury bound metro line.Prestwich and its close neighbour ,Whitefield, remain areas with strong jewish communities and are somewhat upmarket.
