Meissen
Meissen www.stadt-meissen.de (German spelling Meißen) is one of the oldest towns in Saxony, Germany. It was once home to the local bishop and has a huge medieval cathedral and adjoining castle. It is also the place where the first European porcelain was invented! The china factory is still producing today and you can visit it and get to know more about it.

You can get to Meissen by car or by train. The nearest international airport is in Dresden.
