Nuneaton is a city in Warwickshire.
Nuneaton was heavily bombed during the second world war, due to being the location of several munitions factories. Therefore most of the town centre was rebuilt in the latter half of the 20th century.
The 19th century author George Eliot was born just outside Nuneaton, and many locations in her novels are based on the area. Nuneaton itself appears as "Milby" in her works.
Nuneaton is 32km east of Birmingham. The town is close to the M6, M1 and M42 motorways, so is easy to reach by road from anywhere in England. Nuneaton station is an important railway junction and is served by trains on the UK West Coast mainline.
