Oranjemund is a town in Namibia, located on the banks of the Orange River bordering on South Africa.
The town is owned and operated by Namdeb www.namdeb.com.
Access to the town itself and the surrounding area is restricted as per the Namibian Diamond Act and a Restricted Area Permit is required by anyone wishing to visit. These permits may be obtained from Namdeb Security Department's Permits Office at Oranjemund, ☎ +264 (0)63 23-6101 (+264 (0)63 23-6100, fax: +264 (0)63 23-6104).
Visitors may not apply for permits themself, a resident or tour operator residing in Oranjemund needs to do this on behalf of the visitor. All visitors over the age of 18 will be subjected to a security clearance check.
