Parping

Parping (sometimes spelled 'Pharping') is a small village in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal.

Sights
  • Sacred caves associated with Guru Rinpoche, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism.
  • Neydo Tashi Choeling Monastery. A monastery in the Nyedo Kagyu tradition and under the directorship of Karma Chagme Rinpoche. The monastery is located on the left side of the road some distance before entering the village of Parping. The main statue is magnificient and definitely worth visiting.
Eating

While there are no large restaurants catering to tourists, the Asura Cave can provide simple meals, and in addition there are dozens of small storefronts offering snacks and sodas.

Hotels & Accommodation

The closest hotels are in the city of Patan, though Pilgrim's Cafe (located below the Bajra Yogini temple) offers simple accommodation for 50rs per night. However, as they only have four roms, it might be advisable to call first: 2120173
