Ramstein

Ramstein is a city in Germany that is home to the famed nearby Ramstein Air Base.

Many people coming to Ramstein will be American personnel or NATO personnel. Likely, this could be via military flights to the Ramstein Airforce Base www.ramstein.mil. On Ramstein AFB, there is the Ramstein Passenger Terminal www.ramstein.af.mil, which all passengers to Ramstein will see.

• Chili's, ☎ 49 (0/6371)-47-6890, www.chilis.com. Chili's, located on Ramstein AB, is an easy option for those simply staying on Ramstein and not wanting to venture off base. The restaurant can get packed and you may need to put your name on a waiting list to get a table. $20+.

• Air Force Inns - Ramstein, (lodging@ramstein.af.mil), [4]. Comfortable and affordable rooms that are based on a person's military rank. Bathrooms and showers are shared.
  • Unless you will be traveling here on official government travel orders, i.e. TDY or PCS, your stay would be considered Space-"A".
  • Space-"A" reservations are only taken 1 duty day in advance from the date of arrival and require a Master Card or Visa to hold a room after 1800hrs. Failure to cancel a reservation will result in one nights lodging fee being charged to the credit card number provided.
  • Space-A reservations can only be booked up to 3 days at a time.
  • Please note that if you are traveling with children, they are not allowed in TDY quarters, therefore you would have to be booked in a family unit.
  • All reservations are first come first serve. Office hours are 0730-2000 M-F. The best time to call is first thing in the morning.

Food is great, rooms are clean and the people are friendly and very helpful in any situation. Single 1 person 59 Euros, Double 2 person 85 Euros.
