Rancagua

Rancagua, about 85 km south of Santiago de Chile, is the capital of the VI Region of Chile. The city has a population of approximately 200,000 and is located at the side of Cachapoal River. For most of the 20th century the principal economic activities of the region were the extraction and manufacturing of copper, and agriculture.
