  • If you are staying in Sassari for a few days, take at least one day out to visit elsewhere on the island. Take the train - it's very cheap (less than 5 euros) to Alghero. The train is tiny, tourist free, and travels through the stunning landscapes between Sassari and the coast. • Alex B.
