Ballard is a neighborhood in northwest Seattle. While mostly residential, the locks are a major tourist attraction. Nearby smaller neighborhoods sometimes falling under Ballard's umbrella include Phinney Ridge and Greenwood, extending to the northeast, and Crown Hill directly north.

  • Ballard is an old and eclectic part of town. My favorite part of the area is Ballard Avenue with it's bars, little shops and live music. It is a great place to go to hang and and once a year many of the places open their doors to a flat cover charge. Definitely visit the Tractor Tavern and check …  Tina P.
