Seward

Seward is a small port city located at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula in Southcentral Alaska. Seward was named in honor of William H. Seward, President Abraham Lincoln's Secretary of State, who was responsible for negotiating the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867.

  • Seward is very beautiful, but can get pretty windy. You can visit the Harding Ice Field, which is a glacier the size of Rhode Island (at least it was 25 years ago...) I highly recommend deep sea fishing for halibut out of Seward. They have a crazy foot race every summer, straight up and down a …  Dhar I.
  • Great Alaskan town with superb access to Kenai Fjords National Park.  A hike up to the bottom of the glacier shouldn't be missed!  Derek E.
  • You should try to go do the ididaride, its dogsledding in summer with an idiadarod racing team.  Mållø®¥
