Sigulda

Sigulda is in the Vidzeme Region of Latvia, some 50 kilometers to the east of Riga. Located in the picturesque Gauja valley, with its steep banks and cliffs, Sigulda has become known as the 'Switzerland of Latvia'.

  • Take a train from Riga to Sigulda. In the immediate vicinity of the satation there's a bobsleigh track. For a few lats you can get down with a softbob. If Bobsleighers are training, for approx 25 lats, they will take you down in a real bobsleigh... be prepared to feel the G's • Kurt E.
