Songkhla

Songkhla is the provincial capital of Songkhla Province. The city itself is surrounded by beaches such as Samila & Son Awn and also known as "the great city on two seas". With the beaches, some historical centres and nice green parks, this place is definitely a good battery recharge point before heading to more lively Hat Yai.

Songkhla Travel Tips
Songkhla travel tips courtesy of GeckoGo
  • When coming into town on the local bus, stay all the way to the end - don't get tempted to jump off at the first sign of the city - most of the good hotels and Guest Houses at within 5 minutes walk of the last stop.  Shayne O.
  • If staying at a Guest House on the edge of town, take a torch as lighting can be bad, and it's good for shining at dogs who take a liking to you.  Shayne O.
  • Great place for scuba diving and snorkeling  Andrew K.
