Speyer is a city in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany. It is one of the oldest German cities and has a beautiful old town. Speyer has been a diocesan town since 346; its first churches and monasteries were built in the 6th and 7th century.

- A small German city on the Rhine and the resting place of some of the earlier Holy Roman Kaisers. There is a tower which is open to the public and the road between the tower and the cathedral is littered with roadside cafes and ice cream shops in Summer. A nice relaxing day out. • Anthony M.
