Take a train or fly to Graz and either drive (approximately 30 minutes) or take public trainsport (Graz-Stainz-Deutschlandsberg).
Visit the Stainz castle, a impressive looking castle located on the hill. At the castle you can visit the church or Hunter Museum. Hunter Museum offers interactive and interesting displays for both adults and children about hunting, both historical and present.
Visit a Buschenshank (wine tavern) in the nearby area. These taverns offer locally produced food, mostly cold accompanied by local wines and a lively atmosphere.
The area is famous for pumpkin (kürbis) oil, a strong flavored nutty oil that goes well in salad. There is also a sheep cheese which is similar to a mild creamy feta.
The area is famous for a wine called Schilcher. It comes as a white wine or rose. It has a slightly sour taste, somewhat similar to sauvignon blanc.
