Subic Travel Tips
Subic travel tips courtesy of GeckoGo
- Open toed shoes are a plus in the humidity there, never shower away from home with out wearing flip flops. The local fungus will get you. Don't go barefoot anywhere in the Philipines, there are tape worms in the sand and the smallest cut can become a home to these parasites. • Becky L.
- If you are driving, when you come to a cross junction, the rule is first come first go, not the main road has the upper hand like Malaysia.. • Asfian A.
- Once a US navy installation, the base has been redeveloped into outlet stores. The once milatray warehouse are privately held and hold goods from all over Asia. Tour the housing section of the old base if you are a fan of Spainish architure similar to that found on the Califoirnia naval bases. • Becky L.
- i was at the subic bay naval base before they turned it over to the phillipinos. i wish i could tell you about the city but i never did much sight seeing other than going from bar to bar. it was a great place for an 18 year old right out of high school. beer was cheap and lots of ladies • Randy
- I don't believe that Subic Bay Naval station is accessable after the last volcano blew and covered it in mud. If the area is cleaned up, you can't ask for a more beautiful sight. It is a lush green and great for hiking. • Jennifer
- bring your camera for sure ! • Aurora M.
- Try checking out the ZOOBIC SAFARI for a close encounter with Tigers. • Teejae S.
- Bring a camera for the view and swimming gear for the beaches!! • Ryan G.
- Plenty of things to do in Subic, one of which is wreck diving. Some of the attractions are a Spanish Galleon, a Chinese junk boat, an F-4 plane (yes, a fighter plane at the bottom of the sea), and a second world war battleship - interesting mix. • Romel I.
