Zermatt

Zermatt is a car-free village in the upper Valais, one of the alpine cantons of Switzerland. It's probably best known as a platform for skiing and mountaineering, especially on the mountain which towers above the village, the Matterhorn.

  • a wonderful and nice place in the swiss alps. most of switzerlands highest mountains are close by. great place for skiing. no vehicels in the village  Tobias M.
  • If you can, sign up for the Klein Matterhorn sunrise trip while you're in Zermatt. It's within walking distance of the village. You will have to get up at something like 4:00am in the morning (In August) but it's totally worth it because from the observation platform on the Klein Matterhorn, you …  Pokin Y.
  • Zermatt. Well I went there for skying so I can say the snow is execellent!!!(I enjoy skying) The food is quite good so be adventurous and try loads of local stuff.  Jen B.
